About the Emergency Planning Team (EPT)

  • South Wales Local Resilience Forum
Local Authorities, emergency services and other responders come together to form Local Resilience Forums (based on police force areas) which help coordination and cooperation at a local level. Neath Port Talbot CBC is a partner in the South Wales Local Resilience Forum (SWLRF).
  • Legislation
To enable us to undertake our duties inline with statutory legislation, we work closely with the Police, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance, Health Service, Environment Agency, Maritime/Coastguard Agency and Voluntary Organisations to ensure procedures are in place and tested if the unthinkable happens.
  • The Area
Neath Port Talbot Emergency Planning Team (EPT) are responsible for ensuring, on behalf of Neath Port Talbot Local Authority, that the impact of major emergencies affecting the community is greatly reduced, so increasing the safety of their residents and visitors.
  • What We Do
Major emergencies do not happen very often but when they do it's essential that the Emergency Planning Team is ready to respond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Planning ahead is the most affective way to ensure that if emergencies do happen, they have as small an impact as possible on you and your community.
